What Doctors Have To Say About Colostrum And Lactoferrin
Colostrum contains non-specific inhibitors that address a wide range of respiratory illnesses. Colostrum is specifically cited for fighting against potentially deadly outbreaks of Asian illnesses that emerge from animal/human mutations.
Dr. Shortridge, et. al.; Journal of Tropical Pediatrics
This benefit is supported by research done at the US Government’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. E. L. Palmer, et. al.; Journal of Medical Virology
Colostrum contains retinoic acid that helps fight the herpes virus. It also contains Glycoprotein (kappa casein) that helps ease stomach ailments.
Dr. Raloff, Science News
Enhance The Digestive System
Studies with human volunteers have found that preservation of the biological activity of IgG (Immunoglobulin), in the digestive secretions of adults receiving bovine colostrum orally, indicates passive enteral (intestinal) immunization for the prevention and treatment of acute intestinal diseases.
Dr. L. B. Khazenson; Microbial & Epidemial Immunobiology
Human clinical study: Immune factors in cow colostrum, when taken orally, are effective against disease-causing organisms in the intestinal tract. Ingestion of bovine colostrum’s immunoglobulins may be a new method of providing passive immuno-protection against a host of gut-associated, disease causing antigens (viral and bacterial).
Dr. R. McClead, et. al.; Pediatrics Research
Immune Modulating And Immune Enhancing Functions
Colostrum and breast milk (from cows and humans) stimulate a newborn’s immune system; as yet unidentified proteins speed the maturation of cultured B Lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) and prime them for production of antibodies.
Dr. Michael Julius of McGill University, Montreal; Science News
Colostrum activates an under-active immune system, helping it move into action against disease-causing organisms. PRP also suppresses an overactive immune system, such as is often seen in the autoimmune diseases. PRP is highly anti-inflammatory and also appears to act on T-cell precursors to produce helper T-cells and suppressor T-cells.
Dr. Staroscik, et. al.; Molecular Immunology
Colostrum stimulates lymphoid tissue providing benefits in aged or immunodeficient people. Nature has used the oral route for the development of the immune system since the origin of mammals (safe and effective). Oral administration of immunofactors is simple, inexpensive, free of side effects and may be vastly beneficial in veterinary and human medicine, to correct immunodeficiency.
Drs. Bocci, Bremen, Corradeschi, Luzzi and Paulesu; Journal Biology
Colostrum contains significant amounts of Interlukin-10 (a strong inflammation inhibitory agent), found significant in relieving joint and injury areas.
Dr. Olle Hernell; University of Ulmea, Sweden; Science
Immunoglobulins (found in colostrum) are able to neutralize the most harmful bacteria, viruses, and yeasts.
Dr. Per Brandtzaeg; Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What Is IgG? And What Does 25% Represent?
Bovine colostrum contains immunoglobulins that are released into the bloodstream in response to infections. Antibodies are substances made by the body’s immune system. Antibodies attach to foreign substances so the immune system can neutralize them.
IgG is the most common among the five major groups of immunoglobulins: IgA, IgG, IgM, IgE and IgD. Therefore, IgG is used by professionals as a benchmark to gauge the quality of colostrum. Generally, 25% over 15% would indicate that the colostrum is of a higher quality.
How Does Colostrum Work?
Most infectious disease-causing organisms enter the body through the mucous membrane of the intestinal tract. In order to remain healthy, it is critical that we are able to combat disease-causing organisms: bacteria, viruses (endotoxins), fungi, parasites, contaminants and allergens, when they attack us.
Studies on colostrum and more specifically lactoferrin, have revealed that a high percentage of the antibodies and immunoglobulins present are not absorbed but remain in the intestinal track, where they attack disease-causing organisms before they can penetrate the body and cause disease. The remainder are absorbed and distributed to assist in our internal defense processes.
Is Colostrum With Lactoferrin Safe For My Family?
Colostrum is safe and harmless. It is prepared by nature as the first food, or first line of defense, for infants. It would be hard to imagine any foods that are more natural or beneficial.
eNUTRA® is 100% free of preservatives, anti-caking agents, colorings, flavorings, fortified synthetic nutrients, sugars and artificial sweeteners. That is why you may find clumping of the powder during consumption – this is natural.
Why Do I Hear Colostrum And Lactoferrin Being Described As Nature’s Intelligent Foods?
Both foods possess an intelligent, immune modulating function to balance our immune system. This tricky act is what makes colostrum such a safe product to consume on a regular basis, and why it is cherished as nature’s most potent health gift to mankind.
I’m A Vegetarian, I Don’t Eat Animal Foods.
The Rishis’ (India’s spiritual leaders) vegan diet has included colostrum for thousands of years. Today, in India, the milkman delivers colostrum to the wealthy. It’s interesting that the cow has been deified in India. Colostrum is really neither animal nor vegetable but is unique unto itself – colostrum is the first food of life – it is the gift of eNUTRA®.
